Frigidaire built its first refrigerator in Detroit in 1918, produced its 50 millionth refrigeration unit by 1965 and has since become synonymous with refrigeration. Over the years, Frigidaire developed many refrigeration innovations and today it applies that technology to a range of window-mount, through-the-wall and portable air conditioners. Many of its units carry Energy Star ratings, meaning they are the same or better than standard products yet they utilize less energy. This can mean up to 30 percent energy cost savings for the consumer.

Frigidaire's window-mount air conditioners range in cooling capacity from 5,000 to 28,500 BTUS for maximum comfort no matter what your room's size. Its compact MS II unit can cool up to 350 square feet and has an energy efficiency ratio of 10.8. The MS II offers a variable-speed fan, 24-hour timer, 8-way air direction control, electronic controls with remote control and an electrostatic clean air filtration system.

If you're looking for more cooling power, Frigidaire's heavy-duty room air conditioners can cool rooms up to 1,935 square feet. With an energy efficiency ratio of 8.5, these units offer all the convenient features of the compact versions. Some units offer a thermostat right in the remote control, allowing the operator to place the remote control in problem areas for maximum comfort.

Frigidaire's through-the-wall models can cool up to 640 square feet of space and have a maximum energy efficiency ratio of 9.5. These units offer functions similar to those found in the window-mount units and many have the ability to heat as well as cool a room.

Frigidaire also offers portable air conditioners with a 9,000 BTU cooling capacity capable of cooling rooms up to 150 square feet. These units work well in small rooms not accessible to central cooling systems or for supplemental cooling. Portable units have an energy efficiency ratio of 8.7 and offer an easy-to-install window adaptor vent to push hot exhaust outdoors. Units come with a full-function remote control and have 24-hour on/off timers for convenience.
